Everyone loves cupcakes!!! - nail tutorial !!!

Today another tutorial, this time for a cupcakes nail design which I personally love... It's fun, it's different, its summery and its easy so everything what I like the most :)))

Shall we? :)))
Btw, Let all the layers from each step dry before you proceed to the next step.

1. Layer the base coat and 2-3 layers of the base colour. I chose white nail polish from Konad (thumb), 040 Provence by Revlon (index, middle and ring fingers) and 185 Sweet Tart by Revlon (little finger).

2. Do sort of a french tips for on the index and ring finger choosing the colours you want for the liners (papers) for your cupcakes. I chose again Sweet Tart by Revlon (index finger) and Pistachio Ice-Cream by Mua for the ring finger. If the nail polish you chose is not fully opaque try to go for two thin layers rather than one thick, you don't want to build up a zillion layers of the nail polish on your nail. Also don't worry if they are not super straight, the top of them will go under cupcake frosting anyway.

3. Add up some stripes in matching colours to make the cupcakes' liners look real and crinkle, don't worry about them being super straight again as in reality they're not, just have fun with it. To do that I chose Graffiti by Max factor (ring finger) and Intense Fuchsia by Extreme Nails Wibo (nail polish brand from Poland).

4. I also added some stripes on the little finger using again Intense Fuchsia nail polish, to make it look all like a pink crinkle liner.

5. Time for cream frosting!!! Firstly, to make sure the bottom of the frosting is wavy, use the largest dotting tool and just make a row of the big dots one next to the other. Then build up the frosting with middle size dotting tool and fill it up. Repeat that for all the fingers where you have a cupcakes. Add another white dot on the top of the frosting if needed for sharper top and more realistic look. The nail polish you use for frosting should be white/off white and super opaque (perfectly 1 layer) as you just want to do this once. For that I used white stamping nail polish by Konad, as I don't own super opaque white polish just yet.

6. Using dotting tools, add up irregular layer of frosting on the middle nail as well.

7.And now it's time for sprinkles!!! Use the smallest dotting tool you have, and add up as many sprinkles as you like! I like a lot!!! Start with two colours and build up the sprinkles layer gradually. Don't worry if you over-layer too many sprinkles, cause there is NEVER too many sprinkles, that's what sprinkles are for :)) !!! Anyway, I also sprinkled the middle finger, and using the same colours I did the large dots/sprinkles all over the thumb as well (using large dotting tool).
For sprinkles I used: Sweet Tart by Revlon (pink), and Miss Sporty Clubbing Colour: 330 (mint), 328 (purple), 326 (coral) and 301 (yellow).

8. A cherry on top is a must!!!

Using large dotting tool, add a single dot of red nail polish on top of the cupcake to imitate the cherry, I used 549 Red Passion by Max Factor.
When all the layers are dry, seal everything with the top coat for better protection.

And Taa Dahhh!!!
Cupcakes nails are ready!!!!

Neon Pink Animal Leopard Print Nails... Tutorial!!!

I did this design yesterday as I've got a special request for leopard print nails. I though I will do leopard print a bit differently and use neon pink and black with light purple base rather than expected brown black pattern. I was also told to make kind of a tutorial how to do them step by step so here it is :)))

1. Start with a base colour. I started with one layer of base coat from Revlon. Then I put two layers of light purple 040 Provence by Revlon on index and ring fingers, and three layers of dark purple/burgundy 760 Carry On by Essie (I'm not super happy with this Essie colour, it takes three layers to make it completely opaque, and the drying time wasn't great as well... I bought in on cheapsmells.com and it was on sale, but considering it is famous Essie and the retail price for it is ofter quite high, I would expect something better than that).
Wait for the base colours to dry out completely before you move to the next step.

2. Next step is to do not very regular spots. I used my large dotting tool (the largest in set) and created irregular spots using Sweet Tart by Revlon. I didn't do a regular dots on purpose, as the animal leopard print is supposed to be natural and a bit irregular, so I just put neon pink spots here and there. Try not to put too many or too big spots on a one nail as you will do black edges around them later on, and you also want the base colour to be still visible underneath.
Waited for the pink spots to dry out before moving to the next step.

3. Next step is to put an irregular black edges around the pink spots. I used smaller dotting tool and black 895 Onyx Rush Express Finish by Maybelline. Remember not to close the edges around the spots, but rather do larger and smaller moons/C-shapes around, also try to put them in different directions to create the natural animal print look.
Wait until black edges are completely dry and seal the nails with a layer or two of top coat.

Finished!!!! Taa Daah !!!!

Green-ish Blue-ish Gradient Nails... with a special dedication to... :)))

I decided to make another post today, especially for my Sis who became addicted to my blog and is asking for new posts all the time (buahahaha!!!) :))) As I don't have time to make a another nail design today I decided to post a photos of my old mani I did a few months ago, took photos and save them for a moment like that (that explains why my nails in this photo look much longer than nowadays) :))) I did this gradient design using make up sponge technique and it worked perfectly fine.

The layers are as follows:
- a very bottom layer: I Have a Herring Problem by OPI from Holland Collection, a dusty, cloudy clue colour with silvery shimmer
- the middle layer, Hi-Def by Sally Hansen from HD Hi-Definition Collection, a bright green apple colour with goldish shimmer
- a very end layer (nails tips layer), 44 Graffiti by Max Factor Max Effects Mini Nail

I did stamping using white stamping nail polish by Konad and Bundle Monster stamping plates. The photos were taken in the proper sunlight (I know, I know, believe me, we do have a sunny days in uk... sometimes).

Interview/Party Nails!!! Yay!!!

Today's mani is an interview design from today which I converted into perfect party mani... you will probably ask how come boring nails can become outstanding in a minute? but check this out...

So today I had a job interview, and despite it was only an informal one, I decided to be serious and professional anyway. Today in the morning I removed my neon pink/shatter mani (check out my last post) and put 3 layers of 1 Seconde Nail Polish by Bourjois (colour 30, unfortunately they don't do colour names for this series). This nail polish is brilliant, the brush is short and weird but it is actually super simple to layer it and it's true, it takes a single move and only about a second to paint one nail. Dries quickly, it is quite glossy, even without a top coat, and it gets fully opaque with 2-3 layers (depending on their thickness). I think this colour will be great for Autumn/Winter but now it is still a bit too heavy considering that, at least officially, summer is still not over...

But after the interview I decided to go for a little crazier design and put 1 layer of Barry M Rose Quartz Glitter all over my nails. I just love Barry M nail paints, they are so cheap and so amazing at the same time... Barry M Rose Quartz Glitter is a light rose hexagon foil glitter in the clear base full of super fine rose holographic glitter in it... And it makes your nail looking like a million rainbows :) Perfect for the partyyy... :) This colour is amazing but it is super difficult to take a photo of it, I tried many many times and this is what I ended up with, the photos definitely don't do it justice... although it is still not as perfect as I would like it to be... First photo is from official Barry M website just to give you an idea how it looks like officially, without the flash etc.

Revlon Sweet Tart + OPI shatter in Nicki Minaj Super Bass

Yesterday I was in mood for a super summery neon mani. I've got a feeling the summer is about to finish and I was in need for something crazy and funny. Hot pink colour is a Revlon Nail Polish in Sweet Tart; it needed 3 layers for super opaque effect but it dries quickly so an extra layer didn't annoy me much. The Nicki Minaj for OPI shatter in Super Bass is a purple/burgundy-ish colour with an extra shimmer/fine glitter in it, it dries quickly and crackle just fine but as I'm not a big fan of crackle/shatter nail polishes so I'm happy I didn't pay a regular price for it. It is super glossy when wet but it dries to a matt finish which I don't like, so I needed to put an extra top coat layer or two on the shattered fingers to make them even and glossy. Overall it is a nice but not super exciting mani... I got a lot of compliments on it, but I think it was more because of the Sweet Tart neon pink colour popping out great when wore with black clothes rather then the amazingness of the whole design itself...

Layers:
- 1 x So Smooth Base Coat from No7
- 3 x Revlon Nail Polish in Sweet Tart
- 1 x Nicki Minaj for OPI shatter in Super Bass (index and ring fingers)
- 1-2 x Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat (2 layers on index and ring fingers, 1 layer on the rest of the fingers)
